I have read all three of The Del Piero Pack books and I did enjoy them, but the author does tend to get the names of the characters mixed up.SPOILER ALERT: I found the story in book 2 and book 3 to be very similar. Yes, they're each about different main characters but they're both about wolf shifters who have experienced trauma, and who find their mate, and there is a hesitation before they get together, and eventually it's all HEA. As I read book 3, I felt as if I had read it already because of the similarities to book 2. Also, I didn't quite understand how Dewi described how Toby said they were mates but then it turns out Dewi is Gethin's mate. How a shifter knows his mate is described in great detail more than once in the series, so how can one individual fit that for two different shifters? If Toby hadn't died would Gethin never have found a mate?

The author paints a great story, but there’s quite a bit of heartache and sadness to muddle through to get to the true heart of the tale.
Gethin has spent most of his teenage life trying to protect his mother and sister after the slaughter of his father at the hands of their abusive alpha and his inner circle. The physical and sexual abuse has left a shell of a man he is today. When fate gives him a chance to end this torment, he takes the chance and everything else is damned.
Fate has a different plan for him and it comes in the name of a mate name Dewi. Dewi has spent a lifetime it seems grieving over the loss of his mother and the one he thought was his one true one love, one that walked out on him and their life together. When given a chance to start a new in a town of his past lover, he grabs the wolf by the tail and goes full steam ahead.
The author has taken two lonely and rejected characters and weaved a story of love, understanding, and acceptance. The love scene between these two characters was so well written it brought a tear to my eye. The story overall adds further depth to this ongoing series.
While being able to be read as standalone book, I feel the reader would do well with being with the first in the series called “Turning”.
Sad but sweet story. I can't wait for the next one.
I would have given this story at least 4 stars because I liked the characters and the story line. I was disappointed in the editing where the wrong name was used for the main characters. A couple of times I thought it was me and had to reread the paragraph.
